Saturated fat contains only saturated fatty acids, i.e. the chain of carbon atoms are fully "saturated" with hydrogen atoms. It takes on a solid (instead of liquid) form at room temperature. Saturated fats usually come from animal sources (e.g. tallow, lard, butter, cream, etc.), but it also exist in some plant sources such as coconut oil, palm kernel oil, palm oil, and cottonseed oil.
