Might be OK for maintaining an edge (a steel or strop would do the same), but good luck trying to reshape or otherwise fix a damaged edge. |

I wouldn't recommend any v system that doesn't allow you to create a burr. Creating and removing a burr is essential for getting a good edge. The only two gadgets I heard good things about are the Spyderco Sharpmaker and the Edgepro Apex Sharpening system.
But again, a combination waterstone takes some learning but will produce a much sharper edge and cost less. |
