I found a restauraunt supply store with a show kitchen to die for!! Obviously, they have a ton of different supplies for the commercial kitchen, but they also ahve things for the home kitchen. Would this be a good place to purchase cookware? I need to replace a saucepan/pot (1.5 qt), and I know I want to to go stainless steel (which they have). Does anyone know anything about RST to tell me if this would be a good place to get pots/pans from? TIA!

My friend is an apprentice chef, and her opinion is that restaurant grade tends to be superior. My feeling is similar, except it's not always the appropriate size for home use. |

Any store is only as good as the stuff they stock. I have a restarant supply near my house, but it's kind of a crap shoot whether their merchandise is any better than stuff I get elsewhere.
For instance, I got a great deal on stacks of beautiful plain, white plates; but when I wanted to buy a mixer, I found twice the power for half the price on eBay.
Being a well-informed consumer will pay-off no matter where you shop. |
