I make no excuse for stealing the recipe from a friend. It tastes so good that I thought I must share it.
OK.....melt together 2 oz margarine/butter
2 oz sugar
3 0z syrup or honey (or 50-50 of each if you have a sweet-tooth or are decadent!)
add 4 oz oats
press down inti a clingfilm lined dish and microwave on high for 3 minutes.
core and cool
or leave out the clingfilm and bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 mins

A favourite at home (but you have to soak it the night before) is All-bran cake.
Soak 1 cup of all-bran
1 cup of sugar
1 cup of milk
1 cup of fruit (I use sultanas soaked overnigh)t
Add
and 2 oz walnuts
1 cup Self Raising flour
Mix and put in greased loaf tin
bake at 350 degrees (about 1 hour)

Hey Gareth,
Wanted to stop by and thank you for your forum, that I just looked at, that you left the link for. I felt a breath of fresh air run over me as I remembered growing up helping my uncle wash, card, spin & weave wool in to useful products and works of art. It's a complete rush to know that someone has put together a forum, so well, so complete for some of us that care about such things. Seems to be about what "it" IS without leading us to believe someone is hyping or commercializing anything.
I wish I were there, again.
