Cooking for Two is a place to find down-sized recipes especially suited for the household of two.
There are dishes where leftover are a good thing - however many recipes create an excessive amount for just two people and the refrigerator becomes a jungle of left-overs. This section is aimed at providing tried and true guidelines / amounts suitable for two - either an entire dish or just an ingredient.
As a side note, in downsizing my own cooking I have switched to weighing (most) ingredients - simply because measuring small amounts by "cups" is tricky. Measuring by weight is much less prone to errors on small amounts. Ingredient amounts become more critical for smaller preparations as there is less room for measuring error. A good kitchen scale costs in the $30-$50 ranges - it's a sound investment.

I'm guessing this will be an interesting place for those cooking for one as well since the leftovers can be used as another meal a day or two down the line. |
