| A minuscule chip (thus far) has developed in the enamel coating about one inch from the inside bottom of my dutch oven. Is this pot still safe to use? Please advise. |

Absolutely, it's just cast iron under there. You won't notice any difference and there's no harm. If you cook acidic foods like tomatoes and maybe apples, just make sure you remove the food promptly just as you wood when cooking such items in a standard cast iron dutch. The acidic food will react with the cast iron and make your food taste all steely. I have one abused dutch that's probably 40 years old and the bottom is peppered with holes in the enamel, cooks food just fine.
