Question:
Some recipes cake, muffin, or bar cookies I have read recently ask for cooking oil. Why? Can I substitute melted butter to an equal amount of cooking oil asked for in a cake, muffin, or cookie recipe? |

basic bottom line is yes - butter may burn easier - if the recipe calls for baking at high temps (450-475'F) you may want to reduce that by 25F' or so and extend the time a bit.
it is also likely that there's some peculiar recipe where it won't come out the same.... |
