Besides calling out an expensive plumber, any suggestions on how to replace a fault shower faucet? |

rather a lot of that depends on the type of valve, what is faulty and the construction around the faucet.
if you have a hot valve and a cold valve - it's apt to be just a bad washer.
if it's a one-lever mixing valve, it's less simple.
the usual design has a nut on the valve stem - turn off the water, remove nut, that should allow you to remove the "internals" of the valve.
check the seals, o-rings, etc.
hopefully it's new enough repair parts are available - it is not unheard of that parts are no longer available and you've got replace the entire assembly.
now, here's fair warning about this project:
if you get the faucet opened up and cannot get it put back together, the water will be off in the house/bath/shower until you get a plumber to come fix the issue. |
