|
|
I bought an inexpensive Tramontina 22 quart stainless steel stock pot at Walmart - mainly because I like the glass lid for seeing what was going on in the pot. Costco carries a similar stock pot - 24 quart - but with a stainless steel lid.
I made chicken bone broth with some vinegar in it. The rim and lid, when rubbed with a paper towel, showed black staining. What is going on? Is my bone broth edible?
Is there a stainless steel stock pot that won't stain black?
Thanks for your help with this. |

PS I spoke to the Tramontina company today. They said the black residue might be residue from the cleaning compound that was used to manufacture the pot, and maybe not from the vinegar. They also said it was non-toxic but I'm not comfortable eating it! It wasn't part of the soup ingredients I chose!
Anyone else have this experience? What do you think? |
