I've found dough kneaded in my Zo to be indistinguishable from dough kneaded in my KA mixer. Except, I can program the Zo to knead, let the dough rise, and then beep at me to come and get it. So it's dump in the ingredients and let 'er rip.
Cheaper bread machines may not do so well, but most folks I know who have a bread machine get pretty good results from the kneading portion of the machine's capabilities, at least.
My Zo even handles very stiff doughs like chappati/puri dough. I make puri a lot more often these days having over come my fear that the stiff puri dough would burn out my Zo!
There is no question of kneading by hand. I am physically no longer up to that task, and I never really got the whole kneading-as-peaceful-soul-fulfilling-meditative-therapy thing. It's just tedious hard work to me!  |
