Good afternoon. I want to buy a steamer pan. Advise what I should pay attention to, and especially which brand is better to choose.

just to clarify - do you mean a bottom pot to boil water in, using a top insert with holes in the bottom to let steam thru + a lid?
(steamer pan could also be a "keep warm" pan for a buffet line, for example)
I have two methods:
one is a lotus blossom style that unfolds to the size of the pot used
like this:

the other is a larger pot with the steamer insert.
I use the one best suited, size wise, for what/how much I'm steaming.
stainless steel pots/insert/lids are the most practical. because steaming typically involves a small volume of water, things like super conductivity / multiple plies / etc are less important. |
