I'm going camping with the family during the Easter holidays.
I need some campfire food tips and advice.
What is the best way to toast marshmellows, what is the best (easiest) meat to cook on a campfire.
Any advice on getting the fire started would be a nice start too
Any other tips and advice to make our camping holiday great would be appreciated.
Thanks |

Hi Catherine,
As a kid, my favourite camping meal was what my mother called 'Pigs in a Blanket', although I'm sure there are other names as well. Basically, they are hotdogs wrapped in dough (you can use pre-made pizza dough, pie crust, or a mix such as Bisquick).
Spear each hotdog onto a stick, wrap it in raw dough, and cook them over the campfire. Coals work better than flames, of course. Each person gets to cook their own hotdog, and kids love them! To keep it healthy, you could use organic hotdogs or veggie dogs- kids usually can't tell the difference.
I just realized that your camping trip has already passed, but maybe you will get to use this on your next trip! |

Hello Catherine,
Here is a link to a good fish grilling recipe:

I like to add orange slices in addition to lemon slices.
Enjoy your camping! |

When I was a child my mother always made roasted artichokes, putting them directly on the embers... then dress them with olive oil ans salt. Really great! |

Hi, for camping ideas , you must try tortillas with marshmallows and chocolate chips especially for children and grilled salmon or sausage for adults. |
