A confection made of sugar or honey and roasted nuts (e.g. almonds, pistachios, hazelnuts, etc.). It's texture can be chewy or hard depending on the ingredients. White nougat includes beaten egg white and is softer, whereas brown nougat is made with caramelized sugar and is both darker and firmer.
