Calphalon tri-ply and contemporary lines include aluminum all through the pots/pans.

A while back, there was a discussion about stainless clad aluminum cookware., and as I recall someone said that only All-Clad has aluminum going all the way up their pans, and not just on the bottom.

I asked Calphalon about their tri-ply and contemporary lines of stainless cookware:

Here's the answer I got:

Of course, I forgot to ask about the thickness of the aluminum layer, maybe All-Clad is still better.

Does anyone know more?

Honestly, once you are looking at similar product lines, they are pretty much the same. Go for what you feel most comfortable cooking with....deffinately try out the handles.
