I just stumbled onto your website and forum while looking for this exact recipe. I had cut it off the box and have been making it for years but somehome lost it and the stores where I now live don't sell Albers brand. The comments, however, stated that the cornbread tasted sour. I have always upped the sugar to 1/2 cup. Also, from the pictures it looks a little overdone. The edges should be just browned. The texture will be more "cakelike" if you add more sugar and don't overbake. My kids eat this cornbread with honey and butter for dessert; it's that good.
