You have some stale bread and over ripe bananas in your kitchen and you're temped to chuck them over the fence into your next door's beatiful garden? Oh, no! You don't want to do that, babe! Don't throw them away. Recycle them! Easy peasy!

Remove rinds from sliced bread and butter them nicely. Peel and slice bananas lengthwise. Line a loaf tin with a layer of bread and a layer of bananas. Carry on until you end up with a layer of bananas on top. Mix a pint of fresh milk, 1 egg, 1 tablespoon sugar, vanilla and pinch of 5 spices powder ( optional ). Pour over cake to absorb. Bake in hot oven for 30 minutes. Spoon some Rum over top! Teasing. Serve hot or cold.
