I went to a BBQ that day, and someone brought a tray of 'kish'... it was a crispy pastry, with a simple base so that it could stand on its own like a proud triangle. It was coated in cheese and had tiny bacon strips in the cheese. It was so light, delicious and interesting. Can someone tell me what is 'kish' and are there other types?

Note: It is not quiche, I know what is quiche.

Bacon, Cheese, Pastry -- this is starting to sound like a mini-quiche. Was there sort of an eggy/custardy filling in with the cheese and bacon?

Sounds like a mini-quiche lorraine. Is is phyllo pastry rather than crust/egg custard?
