Hello..
I had a question this morning and have wondered where to post it.........then I thought of Cooking for Engineers "anything goes" section..! Hoping you guys can help me out here..
You know the type of lighting shown most obviously in the "Silverstar" type headlights on cars? To get right to my question, is their a name for that type of lighting? The reason I ask is that this type of lighting gives me headaches, and when I meet a car with these things on the highway I almost have to look away to get past it all.. I AVOID this type lighting, no matter it's source like the plague.. Is there a specific name for this high intensity, "blue dominant" type lighting? Please let me know..
Thanks in advance for any info on this....

SilverStar info here:
http://www.osram-americas.com/en-us/products/automotive/Pages/silverstar-ultra.aspx

but note there are different types.
headlights went from incandescence types to halogen and now xenon - with "high discharge" on top to that.

the bluish type can be a bit blinding up close....

Hello Dilbert, and thanks for your reply..
I suppose I should have given you the specifics of what I'm wondering about when it comes to the "intense blueLight issue".. I'm thinking of getting a "tactical flashlight" seen advertised all over theTube these days.. You know, the one that is pretty much indestructible with the strobe option?? I suspect you have.. Given it's intensity, I'm wondering if this is the type of lighting it has.. If so, I have to avoid this..........unless I'm seeking out an immediate headache, which I am not....:/
Wondering if you or anyone on this forum might know about this..
Thanks again for any info you might have...!
