Here is the recipe I use.

1 cup butter, softened

3/4 cup granulated sugar

3 egg yolks

/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

In medium sized bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add one at a time, the egg yoks, Make sure every blends well as you go.(you do not want lumpy cookies). Pour in the vanilla. ( I sometimes add a half vanilla/half rum instead) Add flour half cup at a time, beating continuously. Take a melon scoop and make the balls(about 1 inch) and place on ungreased baking sheet. Flatten with fork and spinkle with sugar(use color suger for the pretty effects). Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes.

Cookies should be light brown and slightly firm.

Cool on wire rack for about 10 minutes.

Makes abour 23-25 yummy cookies.
