I thought this would be the best forum to post this question in.

I was discussing this topic with some of my engineering friends who also enjoy cooking. Do you think of cooking as an engineering hobby and do your skills as an engineer transfer over to cooking and does increasing your cooking prowess help your engineering careers? Thoughts?

I think the two things are not related, but cooking is simply a way to express creativity and relax yourself... forgetting job problems...
