I have a lovely aluminum bowl from the 1950's. My dear mother used it as a salad bowl for many years. Now we know that was not good. It is a beautiful bowl & I use it to wash vegetables.....is that a problem?

no that is not a problem.

extreme acidic/alkaline food will "attack" aluminum but that takes time - as long as you are not storing things in the bowl it's perfectly safe.
