I have a collection of cookie molds, and I have trouble getting high definition images in my baked cookies. The cookies rise and spread enough to distort the images, such as dutch windmills and ships, reindeer etc.
Any suggestions on making a great tasting cookie that doesn't spread out of shape? thanks, Ig's

look for / try cookie recipes intended for "cookie presses"

and don't go substituting things in baking recipes thinking it does not matter.

"shortening" vs. "butter" vs. "margarine" vs. etc. - yup, makes a difference, not only in taste but how the dough works.

I'd also suggest going a little easy on the baking powder.
