What is the proper way to clean a granite mortar and pestle after use? Some people say to not use soap, because it will leave a soapy aftertaste in whatever you grind next. Granite is not very porous, so the soap shouldn't permeate into the rock. I assume it can be rinsed off.

mild soap & water is the usual recommendation - avoid 'scented' soaps tho - the scent may linger. . . .
