I received my new switch and just can't get the old one out. It has metal spring loaded prongs that hold it in (all too well).
Are there any diagrams available for the slide in gas model?

if you google the model number
and
look on the GE site
and
don't have the booklet it came with....

dicey. eh?

do you have access to the back of the panel?
the typical spring snaps push thru the panel and lock in place. they do not come out unless compressed from behind.

Tried all of those ideas- GE has installation instructions only on website. Looking for how to remove the top or whatever is needed to access the switch from the back.

<sigh> without a specific model number to pursue alternative searches, there's not a whole lot anybody can even attempt.
