Finally the moment when we can replace our old IKEA cookware with something better, reliable and nice to work with.

Considering it as a lifetime investment, we want to choose the higher quality, near professional.

Located in Belgium and having easy access to Germany, those companies and their ranges were pre-selected:

Fissler http://www.fissler.net/original_pro_collection_.12.0.html
Zwilling http://www.zwilling.com/locale/en_ww/index.php?bereich=sortiment&produktbereich_id=7&produktbereich=serien&serie_id=3097
Demeyere http://www.demeyere.be/default.asp?CID=2355&SLID=1
Schulte-Ufer http://www.schulte-ufer-kg.de/englisch/0000009645085d303/0000009645086130d/00000096450871d35/index.html

The prices are fairly similar (around 120 Eur per piece) for all companies so what we are looking for is the overall experience with daily usability and the differences in used materials.

Thanks for sharing your experience!

I own Demeyere not a great deal, two frying pants of different size and the sauce pot.

I'm in love with Demeyere, I would trade my grandmother for it. Just a note though, some of its heavy stuff, you aren't going to go tossing anything about. Heat distribution is excellent (not one spot hotter then another) it does take a little time to preheat (don't put anything in until its at the temp you want) and you can also turn things off just a fraction early.

Wonderful stuff.

not sure about the others.. will let others weight in on them
