I saw one of these in action recently. It seems to work very well.

Might be OK for maintaining an edge (a steel or strop would do the same), but good luck trying to reshape or otherwise fix a damaged edge.

I wouldn't recommend any v system that doesn't allow you to create a burr. Creating and removing a burr is essential for getting a good edge. The only two gadgets I heard good things about are the Spyderco Sharpmaker and the Edgepro Apex Sharpening system.

But again, a combination waterstone takes some learning but will produce a much sharper edge and cost less.
