Dr. Atkins was brilliant. I forgot what medical center did the study, but at the end of a year, people on the Atkins diet lost the most weight, had the lowest blood pressure, lowest cholesterol and lowest blood sugar. That all sounds good to me.

I'll eat anything you can kill with a sharp stick. Meat Rules!

Meat tastes sooooo good. Man, just thinking about meat makes me think of a thick, juicy, well-marbled, dry aged rib eye steak that's got a nice salt, pepper, and butter seared exterior and rare inside. It's 8:00 in the morning and now all I can think of is this steak. The rest of my day is goign to be spent thinking about the steak (until I can get some steak in me).

So do I, but I only eat chicken and some fish. What is so special about meat anyway? The only reason I like it is because I eat them fried and with hot sauce. That's why I eat it. Big smile

Why do you all eat steak and pork and stuff like that? I am content with my veggies and fish and chicken.

But if eating is what man does best, why limit yourself? How can you be eating at your full potential as Man if you're not also swallowing duck, beef, pork, lamb, turkey, or venison?

I personally do not limit myself. I enjoy culinary adventure and variety. These include delicious, protein yielding goodness.

I am meat.

Because of the flavors and textures and variety.

Atkins died overweight.

Visited the doctor last year, felt as though I had gout (diet high in purines). My doctors face fell as he asked me, "Let me guess, Atkins?" Apparently he sees a handful of his patients coming down with cases of gout due to the Atkins diet. Cool, huh?

I think I'll stick to a balanced diet and exercise. Of course, I don't speak from experience, I've never been on a diet. Well, okay I have been.

Eating is what man does best to a point. Duck, pig, and deer are unclean but lamb, goat, some fish, and chicken is clean and safe to eat.

Mebbe it ain't Halal. We have a wonderful Halal market around the corner. I went in a few weeks ago and they'd shut down their meat counter. Too bad because that was my only local source for fresh goat.
