There are several points that make it easier to determine how to choose spinach in a store or on the market.

- Pay attention to the color of the leaves, it should be saturated green.
- Fresh spinach has a pronounced mouth-watering smell. No unpleasant odors from the plant should come.
- Fresh spinach leaves crackle a little if you squeeze them lightly with your fingers.
- There are no yellow or black spots on high-quality spinach that indicate damage by pests or the use of chemicals when growing plants.
- Buy spinach without visible external defects, that is, not wrinkled, not wilted, and not damaged leaves.
The presence of a too thick stem indicates the overripe spinach and in the taste of such a plant a lot of bitterness.
