Hello all,

My name's Jonah and I'm new to this forum. I started cooking pretty young, but didn't really catch the bug until college.

I'm looking for a good book on Pasta... Not really recipes for stuff you can do with it, just how it's actually made, and how I can make it myself. It's a big hole in what I know that I want to close up Smile

Thoughts? Suggestions?

Look forward to whatever you all have to suggest!

Best wishes,
Jonah

Hello Jonah,

Am new to this forum as well. But I do know where you might be able to get an old fashioned pasta recipe. It might sound silly, but my fiancé had to look it up for me because he wanted to make me home-made macaroni and cheese. Here are some sites that could help, but if you wanna go the book route I’d suggest possibly going to a Cracker Barrel (they tend to sell old fashioned cookbooks with proper cooking recipes).

But yes, here’s a link for noodle making: http://gourmetfood.about.com/od/cookingtechniques/ss/freshpasta.htm

And here’s a link for the mac & cheese: http://www.wikihow.com/Make-Macaroni-and-Cheese

If you want history of pasta / technical processes, etc. you could try a library or book store under the cooking section. I’ve actually found books on the history of cake before lol Smile

Hope that helps! XD And good luck cooking!
