Hello, I heard that Southbend is a decent commercial gas range brand. I read good things about Garland also. Is there one that is considered the best?

Garland makes absolutely top-notch restaurant stoves, ovens and salamanders. They aren't necessarily what you would call "pretty," but their functionality is unbelievable.

REAL restaurant stoves and ovens are SO much better than the so-called "professional" Wolf, Viking and other cooking machines made for home use, you have to actually see and use it to believe it. The Garland has 8 pointed star, 30,000 btu burners that are amazing. The only problem with the REAL restaurant stoves, is that you must have certain installation criteria satisfied for them to be inspected and given a C.O. in a house and most "esthetic" installations would fail inspection.

A good friend of mine just got a 60" wide, ten burner Garland restaurant stove with dual 26" wide ovens in time for Thanksgiving. (He didn't get it inspected yet, but it is beautifully installed) It is a thrill to use such a stove when cooking for parties of 30-50 people at his home.
